So lets recap, after the IUI I had 3 blood draws total. Two were for progesterone and one was today's beta. My progesterone numbers were amazing during both draws (above 45 both times) which means there was no need to supplement any progesterone.
Today was the beta draw. I already knew that the result was going to be negative because I already tested but its protocol to get a beta done at the RE's office.
So no surprise when the nurse called and told me I'm not pregnant. womp womp
She said that next cycle will be the same but different. We are going to do the clomid on 3-7 again...yay for multiple personality Danielle with dizziness, nausea and hot flashes. I can't wait. She also said that they are going to be upping the monitoring. Since I was only monitored once this cycle we really missed some key information and timing since the day I went in for my bloodwork and ultrasound I ended up ovulating. They want to catch it before it happens, not as its happening. She also said that they'd like to see me ovulating later than day 12 since anything around or before that time means its an immature egg. Once they monitor me and get the timing right we will go ahead with the iui again.
So that's the plan.
Now, something that also happened this past week was that I was reviewing some old bloodwork on labcorps website and noticed that I had a prolactin draw done back in December. Those results were high. The doc, never not once, told me about these results which kind of pissed me off. My results were 41.2 with normal range being between 4.8-23.3. So yea, I'd say something is off there. So when the nurse was on the phone going over next months plan I brought these results up to her. She said she didn't have a copy there to look at but when I told her my numbers she told me that is absolutely something they will treat me for. So when I go in on day 3 she will be giving me a prescription for Dostinex to be taken once a week. High prolactin can influence fertility in a number of ways so I'm hoping that with getting these numbers down I will be finding and fixing that key piece of whatever is missing and wrong in my body.
And that, folks, is my update.
