IVF

The day that Mike got his official welcome letter from his new work I emailed my doc letting her know the good news. I knew she would share in my excitement over the new benefits and being able to continue treatment.

And she did not disappoint. She emailed back and forth with me for about an hour. In that hour she told me that we are going to begin birth control pills now (well, at the beginning of my next period) so that we don't have to wait any longer than we have been. Birth control pills are used to suppress my body from producing any follicles and it will be easier for them to manipulate my cycle for the IVF. She gave me the phone numbers to the IVF patient coordinator and told me that when we get our new insurance cards to give one of the two ladies a call to set up my cycle.

So when one of those coordinators called me today, suffice to say I was shocked. The coordinator told me that Dr. Bachman had come to them and explained our situation and to give me a call. Have I mentioned how much I love this doc?!?!

After chatting with the coordinator, who is equally personable, we decided to go ahead and schedule my IVF consult next week on Tuesday. I love how proactive this place is. I will hopefully have my whole ivf cycle planned out before I even have medical benefits.

For those of you not familiar with IVF here is a website that explains in better than I ever can. It's scary and not fun but it gives me hope.
