Not even June yet and I am sick of the 90 degree weather. Ok, I really can't complain because I am one of those weird people that would take hot weather over cold weather any day. But I think it's a bit unreal when its not even June yet, let alone summer, and we are in our first heat wave. Doing laundry, cooking, heck even breathing warms the house up so much. It doesn't help that we have vaulted ceilings and the hot air settles in our living room. Nice for sleeping since the other rooms are cool, bad for every other minute of the day. Oh and all my pretty flowers are sizzled....burnt....kaput!

Day 150
Heat wave much?? Goodness! I think the temperate read 95 degrees all day and I woke up to a brisk 83...lol. Just walking outside today was exhausting. Mike was on a power washing kick all weekend long since he borrowed a power washer from his friend. Nate and I came out occasionally to see what Mike was doing and even that proved to be exhausting. I did get some Border Cafe today, though. Mike and I used to go there once a week. Now we are lucky if we make it there once a month. Sad, sad, sad. Ok, I'm sitting here pining for words and I'm coming up blank so I will spare you all and end this...now.
Day 149
So, granted, today is not Memorial Day, but this is the day we always celebrate with a BBQ and beer. What fun is it to celebrate it on Monday knowing that the work week is ahead of you. And, YES, as a SAHM, I have a work week as well. So, as always, the BBQ at the rents went just as usual. Burgers, dogs, beer, music, pool (though it was a bit too cold to get in). Nate was pretty good throughout the time we were there. When he got fussy everyone left him alone and let Mike and I handle him. He was, of course, too nosy to nap so we hung for as long as we could then said our goodbye's when he became too much. Because he refused to nap we knew that it would throw him off schedule but I could not have imagined how bad this night would have been. I find it funny when I tell people that Nate is on a schedule and needs to stick with it or else it is hell for everyone involved and they don't believe me. Or they dumb it down to other things and say that its no big deal. Well, if you were here last night, you would know that it is a big deal. My poor kid screamed uncontrollably for hours. It was not fun and as a parent it broke my heart. I can say that I will stick to his schedule regardless of who or what is involved. Last night (and many other nights before when we have tested Nate's limits) is the last that will be like that.
Day 148
So these birthday creativities commenced today. I am not creative in the least but I figured I could do something myself and gave it a shot. The other things, I gave other WAHMs on Etsy a shot, instead...lol. As you can see, I did some cutting and some taping and came up with a cute banner and some Mickey heads to place around the house for Nin's birthday. This time last year I was as big as a house and my feet were comparable to, well, I don't know what to compare them too because they were *that* big. Also, this time last year, every night before I fell asleep Nate would jam his head into and under my ribs and I would have to have Mike press on his head to get him out. Now, don't get me wrong. I feel bad about doing it now, but we thought he was head down and it was his butt in my ribs. Well, again, let me clarify. I always thought/knew he was breech but every doctor I saw told me he was head down. And these people get paid the big bucks!

Day 147
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day. I will be working on some balls, running the gazillion errands I need to, stopping for a brief moment to enjoy a bbq, then back to household chores that need to get done before June 19th.
Todays pic is a pic of my current wool/prefold stash. I took it bc I was posting it elsewhere for something but decided to use it for my daily pic. For your viewing pleasure, because I know you really want to see it (insert eye roll, I know), I have included other pics of my current diaper stash.

Day 146
So I would say today is pretty much blah and fail all at the same time. While I was able to get more than usual accomplished, I feel like I just moved messes around to different areas of the house instead of actually cleaning anything. Like take, for example, the load of diapers I did. They got washed and hung out to dry. I brought them inside and threw them into the dryer on air only to soften them up a bit and then dumped them in a laundry bin, without stuffing them. Fail. On and what is this lovely picture of, you might ask. Well that was supposed to be of my diapers hanging to dry all cool and ecofriendlyish, except, I forgot and took them down before I took the pic. Fail.
Day 145
So, I don't know what is up with my computer (laptop) because it would not let me log on to blog the past couple days. I finally got off my donkey and came into the computer room and, alas, blogger allowed me to sign on. Whatevs. So I finally gave into the heat and turned on the air conditioning. I was hoping for just a few more days/weeks of nicer weather to be able to have the windows open but after sweating outside while cleaning up the garden, I decided to turn it on. Ok, well *I* wasn't cleaning out the garden but I was still outside sweating.

Day 144
This is a truth post. The truth is that even though I am roughly 5lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight it does not look like it. I'm not going to lie. I hate exercising and I do not eat the right stuff. Chasing Nate around all day is about all the exercise I want or get. I know that I probably see my imperfections more than anyone else. I'm sure that the fact that I have scoliosis and it makes my hips predominately unaligned is mostly only noticed by me. So, then, why is it that I beat myself up over stupid this stuff. It's bathing suit season and I just cannot bring myself to go shopping. Me, not go shopping???? I know, right.
Ok, if you read all that, I'm sorry I put you through that. I was very uninspired on taking a photo today and decided to take one of myself...ala baby bump days except its almost a year past I did any. Ok, dinners about done. Hamburger Helper...it makes a great meal (oh and I told you we don't eat healthy).

Note-picture was taken on my good side. You don't want to know what it looks like from the other ugly scoliosis hipped side.

Day 143
Mike took the day off and we decided to take Nate to the Brandywine Zoo today. We knew he wouldn't give two craps about going there so we decided to hit up the smallest zoo possible. It was the perfect size and with the extremely overcast weather we were one of the few people there. Well, to be honest, we arrived as 3 busloads of kids were leaving so I'd say we made excelled timing. After checking out the animals we headed back for a few photo shots on the walkway and by the fountain then home we headed. Nate was nice and tuckered out and slept the rest of the afternoon away. What a fantastic day!

Day 142
My poor boo-boo has a pretty bad diaper rash. So much so he is back in some Huggies with lots of diaper rash cream. I can honestly say that he smelled like pee diapers for the past 2 days which is something you don't get when in cloth. I hope it clears up soon for him.
So, is it possible to OD on freeze dried fruit? Because I think I may be at the limit on how much one can consume in a couple days. I joined a website that does co-ops for many different things. One of the first things I ordered was Just Tomatoes. Now, contrary to the title, Just Tomatoes sells more than just tomatoes. They sell fruit and veggies that are freeze dried...AND DELICIOUS!!! I'm addicted and (not so) patiently waiting for the next co-op so I can order more.

Day 141
Busy Busy Busy!!! That is my life from here on out until Nate's birthday party. If there isn't an errand to run, it's work around the house that needs to be done. Not to mention, getting orders out in between. I feel like I have been and will be non stop until June 19th so don't bother me, just kidding. But for real, the amount of stuff that Mike and I need to do in the next few weeks is a lot.
So, many a years ago I had a bunny rabbit. Her name was Pretty Girl. So when Mike said that while he was cutting the grass he saw a baby bunny my heart melted. We caught the baby bunny and boxed him so s/he wouldn't get hurt my the lawn mower. When everything was said and done, we caught *3* baby bunnies. We let them go after Mike got done mowing the lawn and I hope they went back to their mommy (who probably lives under our shed).

Day 140
Today my friend, Kaitlin's son, turned 2 years old. I can remember so clearly rushing to the hospital at 3am the day she was *finally* in labor. We had a few false labors before the real one but May 20th 2009 was the real deal. Now, Tyler is 2 years old and boy is he getting so big. It's amazing to think that in such a short time Nate will be all grown up like Tyler. Mike, Nate and I went to Tyler's birthday party and is was amazing watching his eyes light up as everyone sung him happy birthday. The hugest smile came across his face and he looked as if he could not be any happier.

Day 139
Nate is 11 months old today. I'm not ready for this. I feel like a broken record saying stuff like that. It's also a common topic of conversation over in this house. Waaaa!
At 11 months old Nate can crawl, stand, pull up, climb over things (yes, he learned how to climb already!), scale surfaces and even let go and stand for brief moments without holding on. He still likes his food pureed because he is too lazy to have to chew anything. He loves yogurt, puffs, crunchies, bread (I want to say something after this statement but I will leave it alone), all fruits and veggies in a jar, grilled cheese, yogurt melts and most of all Cheerios. He says mom, ma-ma, and dig. I'm sure none of those are used in context...lol. I believe he weighs somewhere around 20lbs still but I will weigh him after his nap to make sure. If I can think of anything else, I edit to add it later on.
Edited to add current weight is a whopping 20.6 lbs...lol.

Dy 138
My attempts at starting to build my dryer balls stashed was greatly diminished, today, when I realized the pain in my fingers got no better over night. I am blaming this pain solely on the weather and I would like for this 7 day rain to come to an end already. So what did I do instead of rolling balls? I cooked dinner (alright alright, put it in the crockpot), cleaned the living room and put away Nate's cage. I thought it was time to let him explore things again. I had the door open and he loved being able to crawl over it to, stand and look out the window. And of course he loved to crawl over to the tv. He needed to be very close to it while watching his baby crack. For those of you who do not know what baby crack is look up Yo Gabba Gabba.

Day 137
At approximately 10:30 this morning there was a knock on my door. The prompted the barky ass dog to be, well, barky. I was kind of unaware of who was knocking on my door and sat there for what seemed like too long before finally getting up (all the while telling the dog to shut up before he wakes up the baby). When I finally made it to the door (because its suuuuch a long walk....lol) I realized that today was the delivery day for my organic fruits and veggies. I opened the door and found the driver to already be back in their car and dialing in the next destination into their GPS so I picked up my nicely placed box and brought it inside where I ripped it open. Inside I found a delicious array of fruits and veggies ice cold from their travels. Everything smelled so good! Oh and said barky dog DID wake said sleeping baby. Baby was thus cranky rest of afternoon. I cannot wait to try some of it tonight (lettuce and cucumber in our salads). Oh and I'm sure my nice organic food is going to go great with my ribs and corn on the cob tonight. YUM!

Day 136
Today, Nate's 1st bday banners came in the mail. It was the official first piece of 1st bday stuff I have coming for him. Why is it still hard to believe that my baby is going to be one in 34 days. How is it that the past 11 months have gone by so quickly?? Mike and I often sit around reminiscing about little newborn Nate and how fast things have seemed to go since he was born. I feel so overwhelmed with planning his party...especially since my ball business has taken off. Trying to plan a super awesome party while making balls...try doing that!...lol. Oh and somehow between now and then I need to fix up my garden and lawn, get both bathrooms put back together from getting tile put in, clean the living room (and if you know me, you know how much of a disaster this is) and clean the spare bedroom up a bit. Oh, and the list really could go on but I don't want you to know what kind of wreck I really am...lol. I feel like this is a lot to take on and I'm not sure if its possible but we shall see.

Day 135
So, Nate was SO.CRANKY last night that he was in bed by 6. Yes, you read that right...6pm. So, why would it surprise me when I heard him on the monitor at 6 am this morning?? ::YAWN:: That made for one very long day today. We went to Tece's house for a bday party and Nate got to hang out with his cougars for a bit.
Sidenote: I talked a while back about my flower beds and their lack of maintenance. Well, during Nate's naps I have been trying to get them weeded and looking decent before his party next month. To my surprise I have one whole flower missing. ::tear:: But have no fear, I have an angel coming to fix it soon...=)

Day 135
So, Nate was SO.CRANKY last night that he was in bed by 6. Yes, you read that right...6pm. So, why would it surprise me when I heard him on the monitor at 6 am this morning?? ::YAWN:: That made for one very long day today. We went to Tece's house for a bday party and Nate got to hang out with his cougars for a bit.

Day 134
So, its official...my son has wide feet. We knew his feet were big snausages but we finally took him to the shoe store to get sized correctly and get some new shoes. I can honestly say that 1. boy shoes are not that exciting and 2. they are DAMN expensive. But you want to know the awesome part? Nate is doing really good at standing by himself when we put the shoes on him. So hopefully they will be worth the ungodly price I paid for them. Oh and FYI, I visited Target not once, but twice in one day. The whole reason for the trip was a gift card and we left without getting the darn gift card...but still somehow spent A LOT of dollars.
Oh and I saw one of my blog creepers during my first trip to Target so I'm giving a shoutout to said stalker!!

Day 133
So, its true I am home with my son all day (well most days we are home). So its no surprise I have certain shows I watch. Now, with that comes certain commercials that I see (or hear since I am always doing my dryer balls and not really watching the show) ALL.DAY.LONG! And you want to know the funniest part of all? I could watch a commercial 100 times and never, not once, really pay any attention to it. There are those few exceptions, though. Like catchy jingles. Oh how they stick in my head. And on that note I want to give a bit flip of the bird to Arby's for their damn "Good Mood Foooood".

Day 132
Absolutely gorgeous!!! This weather is to die for! ME and Nin's spend a little bit every nice day outside enjoying it while its not too hot. We either swing on our swing or chill on the patio. Neither which he prefers. Silly boy. Maybe one day I'll have the sun loving, shopping kid just like myself.
