Day 303

So even though Nate is only 16 months old, I am almost positive he is cutting his 2 year molars. He has had all his other teeth in since just after he turned one and just the other day the gnawing on the hands, rosy cheeks, drooly face cranky butt started happening again. Poor dude. These ones seem to be pretty bad and it shows since he was up a couple times plus he got up REALLY early this morning. If you know my son, this is def uncharacteristic of him.

But oh a really awesome note, he started saying 'touchdown' and lifting his hands in the air. He really just picked up on it, like, today after Mike and I doing it just a couple times. He is absolutely adorable doing it and if you haven't seen the video I posted a few days ago, go check it out on my facebook.

Day 302

Well, it wasn't a fluke. It most def snowed today. Thankfully, it wasn't much. It was a def mood killer to say the least. It was a stay in your pj's, drink hot chocolate, and watch scary movie kinda day.

Day 301

So, as usual, nothing new to report here. Just the beginning of a lazy weekend. Oh yea, except for this pesky thing called snow, it should be a good weekend. Wait a minute. Did I really just mention snow? In October? Before Halloween? Yes, to all of the above. I don't like cold weather in the least, throw snow into the mix and I am pretty unhappy. Hope tomorrow is just a fluke and no snow happens.

Day 300

DAY 300?!?!?!?!?! Day 300?!?!?!?!? OMG YAY!!! Do you even realize how wonderful it is to see that number?? I didn't actually think I would stick with this thing until the end and now it is so close. Now, I know I used to update a blog every day but that was before Nate could crawl, let alone run and all the other fun stuff that he does now. But, holy crap! I am actually semi proud of myself for almost completing this one yera of picture taking/blogging.

And onto the pic:

A pic of some balls. Bahahahaha sorry, I've been pretty busy here making dryer balls the past couple days that this is the best pic you are getting from me today.

Day 299

You know what I hate about this time of the year? Almost everything.....lol. Sorry, I am just not a cold weather gal. Now, I'm sure I would love this time of the year if I lived somewhere south of here but I don't. Wahhh.

You know what I love about this time of the year? Halloween movies!!! I am such a sucker for any and every type of horror flick there is. Mike and I were talking the other day about "I Know What You Did Last Summer". Wouldn't you know that it was on last night. Gosh, it was just as good as when I used to watch it in grade school with all my friends. We used to know each and ever part and rewind when the cop gets killed and blood spurts out of his mouth. Shame on us Catholic School girls. Corrupted we were at such a young age.

So anyway, the reason there is not an even semi-decent pic for today was because I was too busy watching Halloween movies. So sue me!

Oh and can I just say that Ryan Phillippe is one of the yummiest things to come out of Delaware?!?!

Day 298

OMG!!! I made the most delicious chicken dinner EVER!!! I mean, not to toot my own horn or anything but it was AH-MAZING. Juicy and tender and best of all, it was in the crockpot. Did you expect anything less of me?? Anyway, I pinned the recipe on my Pinterest if anyone wants it. Don't have my Pinterest info? Here: http://pinterest.com/dmcinderella/ Anyway, so I was so hungry and so excited to eat said dinner that I forgot to take a pic of its amazingness. So, instead, you get the leftovers...lol.

Day 297

I never thought I would be so happy to see Nate making a mess out of spaghetti. But, alas, I was thrilled since I had little faith that he would eat this dinner willingly. Oh and don't mind that random piece of broccoli there on his plate. One of the things that we discussed with the doc at his appointment was introducing one food to him every day for 2 days. She said statistically, some time in those 21 days, a child will eat the food that is reintroduced each and every day. So this is day #1 of broccoli. He did pick it up, put it to his lips then throw it over his tray...lol.

Sunday, October 23, 2011

Day 296

So, today was a major cook-a-thon. We had your salad, we had your meatballs, we had your 7 layer dip, we had your Mexican Dorito Casserole, oh and best yet, we had your Homemade Apple Pie. Yes, folks, that really happened here. Too bad we cut right into it and therefore, I took no picture. Actually, I took no pictures of the food we made. Oops, lol. I'll blame it on my greedy stomach who wanted to feast instead of capturing the moment on the camera. I did, however, capture the aftermath of eating so much...lol.

Day 295

OK, the next words out of my mouth, err hands, might be shocking to some but its true. I have not been to the mall in MONTHS. This is coming from the girl who used to go every weekend in grade school and high school and made multi-week trips with Mike for years. Though, with having Nate (who HATES shopping) we aren't able to hit up the mall like we used to. But we made an exception this weekend and packed up Nate to do some walking/shopping. It was nice that he was big enough to enjoy the play area this time. He met a friend and ran around like the Chicken that he is.

Todays pic is a cell phone pic...oh well....

Can you find my Chicken in this pic???

Day 294

So, its about 3ish and I hear the mailman coming into the cul-de-sac. I usually watch him bc if, for some reason, he has to come to the door I want to make sure Sir Barkey Von Stinky is out back so he doesn't wake up the baby if he is sleeping, etc. So I watch the mailman come to the mailbox and put what looks like a package in it. Now, I'm not due for any packages (that I can remember) so my curiosity was quite peaked. I let him drive up a few houses before I went to the mailbox. When I got there I opened it up and saw that it was, indeed, a package. I pulled that out, along with one piece of junk mail. I spent the entire time back up to the house trying to feel what was inside. I was pretty sure it was a diaper by the feel of it but...

1.-I didn't have any diapers on order (that I remember) and...

2.-The return address/name did not ring a bell

So anyway, I got inside and proceeded to rip open this package and inside I found the CUTEST dachshund diaper. But, it didn't say who it was from. So, I did some investigatory FBing skills and realized that one of my July moms "like"s this company on Facebook. So of course I text her and it was from her. So Lisa Lovesherbabies =) thank you so much for the ADORABLEEEEE doxie diaper!!!!

Day 293

I mean, we haven’t stopped moving all week, why stop now? Michele set Nate and I up on a play date with a friend of hers and her sons. We met at a big park and let the kids run wild. Funny thing, out of the 3 of us (another mom was there too), there was all boys there. Very unusual from who I normally hang out with…lol. Nate ran and ran and played and played and he was so burned out by the end of the day. I tried my damnedest to get a good pic of Nate playing at the park but he wouldn’t sit still long enough. Oh and he wasn’t thrilled by the slide, as if the picture wasn’t enough evidence of that..lol.

Day 292

HAPPY 16 MONTH B-DAY NATE!!!!!

Vent ahead: why do doc appts always run late? Nate had his 15 month doc appt (a month late, yes) today. I scheduled it first appointment at 8am. So tell me why we still run behind? I know the answers to all these since I used to work for a pedi doc but I'm just throwing out some of my frustrations.

More importantly, can we talk about the fact that my baby is 16 months old?? For some reason, this sounds so old. And he acts so old now. So independent with his own likes and dislikes. He has a bit of a temper on him and he will clench his fist and shake it while holding his breath. He knows the signs for 'more', all done', and a new one 'food'. I think its time for a new one since he is picking up signs so fast now. He is a little jibber jabber even though none of it makes sense to any of us.

Ok, so now, onto the pic of the day....

Today after his appt, Nate and I had some visitors. Cousin Julie and Lola came over to have a play date with Nate and I. It’s amazing how big Lola has gotten since the last time I had seen her. Julie said the same things about Nate which was funny since he really hasn’t grown any…just developmentally. The babes had a blast playing and it was nice having some adult interaction other than Mike, my mom, Michele and online…lol. Hopefully we can plan some more things to do with the babies soon!!!

And from the last time we tried to get them together for a pic:

Day 291

Mike took today off to join Nate and I at the orchard to pick some pumpkins and enjoy a hay ride and such. It was a BEAUTIFUL fall day and we had a blast. *My* favorite part was the Apple Cider doughnuts but I'm sure Nate would say his was the running around in the pumpkin area or laughing at the farm animals.

Note that in the pic we situated Nate on a pile of pumpkins not even realizing the scenery behind him. I'll call this a funny coincidence!

Day 290

OMG! What a day! Today Michele and I decided to take Nate to the Plumpton Zoo about 30 mins away in Maryland. What a great day we had. The zoo was pretty much empty and the animals were great. So friendly!! Nate LOVED feeding the animals which surprised me. I mean, he feeds Bailey Cheerios all the time but Bailey is a wiener, not a Donkey. This was the cutest darn zoo. Well worth the $10 it costs us to get in. It was really hard picking one pic for today but I must and I will upload the rest to FB.

Day 289

For your viewing pleasure, today, you get a crappy cell phone pic. I spent the majority of the day cooking and, well, deal with it. =)

Saturday, October 15, 2011

Day 288

Today Mike and I did some arts and crafts with Nate as well as I took on the task of recreating a cake I saw on Pinterest (or as some call it, Pinster). I'd say both turn out pretty gosh darn good if you ask me. Right??

Dat 287

Pinterest. So, if you haven't heard of it yet, look it up. It is the most addictive things I have done in a long time. But not only that, I actually get really useful things from it from it like recipes and crafts to do with Nate. Today, I tried to make this Tortilla soup which didn't quite turn out as planned but made AH-MAZING taco/quesadilla/fajitas. One of the best dinner mess ups I have had in a long time.

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Day 286

He shoots! He scores!!!!! Why teach Nate important things when I can teach him how to shoot hoops? OK, I teach him important things too but this was still cool. And Nate was even able to show Mike his new skills when he got home that night.

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Day 285

Something about white noise that makes everything in the world just right. I'm an avid fan user. Especially since my lovely neighbors leave their dogs outside until ungodly hours of the night. So it was only obvious when Nate was born he would also use white noise himself. When its on I can go into his room, throw a party with lights and music and the kid will not stir. Now, shut the white noise off and he pops right up.

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Day 284

Nakey baby! Since birth, Nate has pretty much loved baths. He never fussed, or cried or anything. Thankfully. 15ish months later the kid still enjoys his bath time. It's his daddy time and they have their playing and rituals down to a science. I did sneak in for a candid partially nekkid shot.

Monday, October 10, 2011

Day 283

So, I was watching The Today Show today and they had a whole segment on braids. Yes, like hair braids. Real powerful stuff right there. But then I got to thinking. I mean, braids can be a pretty awesome hair statement if done right. I mean, don't put your hair in some braided pig tails, that's not cool. Well unless you're 3 that is. Anyway, I decided to rock the side braid today and I'm kinda loving it.

Sunday, October 9, 2011

Day 282

I would like to take this time and attribute the Vikings sole win on the fact that Nate and Mike were both in Vikings gear. BaRoooo!!!
Now, onto more important things....WINE!

This wine festival surpassed my expectations of what it would be. There was SO MUCH FOOD I thought I was going to explode. Oh and I'm pretty sure my breath still smells like garlic. Sexy huh? The wine was fabulous, but really, what wine isn't. Well, there was this one wine that tasted like feet. That was gross but all the others were AH-MAZING!

Saturday, October 8, 2011

Day 281

After having some pretty cold days, God blessed us with one more FANTASTIC weekend. I was able to go to the Farmer's Market and the grocery store (to which I saved a TON with coupons) then we came home and played outside. Nate loves being outside and eating all the rocks by our patio. Yummm

Friday, October 7, 2011

Day 280

So, you know what will get me out of my post-vacation blues? Wine! Lots of wine, and good food. Problem solved. 2 tickets to the Vendemmia Wine Festival were purchased to get me out of my funk. OMG WIIIIIINNNEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, October 6, 2011

Day 279

Ok, yes I know my posts and pictures are getting a bit boring. Cut me some slack. I am suffering from post vacation blues. You know where you can't back into the swing of things. You long to wake up to the crashing of the waves. Yea, I'm pretty sure I am in that funk and I am trying really hard to come back to reality.

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

Day 278

I'm pretty sure that when I hang upside down for a set amount of time I start to feel a little lightheaded, dizzy and nauseous. Nate, on the other hand, prefers it. He will gladly sit upside down and watch tv. In fact, I'm pretty sure he prefers it. That's my weird kid!

Tuesday, October 4, 2011

Day 277

So, a long time ago a friend gave Mike and I this lovely plant. It was this green thing in a pot. It gave my otherwise unplatened house some greenery. Well, said plant grew a little too large and outgrew his home. Coincidentally at the same time, I had a bit of a falling out with said friend who gave me this plant so Mike and I decided to just throw the plant out. It was half dead and with a newborn I just couldn't take the time out to revive it. Flash forward to recent times and this friend and I are all better now. So as a joke I was given this happy plant that sits in my window sill. It's flaps its leaves with sunlight. And best of all, I can't kill it!

Monday, October 3, 2011

Day 276

So, I am one of those people who come home from vacation and leave my suitcases sitting right where I dumped them at. I also could care less how long they sit there. I mean, eventually everything will come out of there, right? So, it is NOT a surprise when my suitcases are sitting in my living room untouched. And for the record, this is a cell phone pic. No judging the bad lighting please!

Sunday, October 2, 2011

Day 275

So, when I said the trip to Hatteras was hell, I had not fully grasped what hell really consisted of. I'm pretty sure hell is 2 ferry rides, a 6.5 hour trip, a detour through bumblefuck to get gas, then sitting in rt1 traffic because of the races at Dover Downs. I'm pretty sure if I had a dull tipped pencil I would have slowly gauged my eyes out during this ride home. We left for our trip and it was dark....we got home and it was dark again.

Saturday, October 1, 2011

Day 274

Goodbye vacation.

Goodbye beach.

Goodbye Mike doing every diaper change.

Goodbye pretty sunsets.

Goodbye until next time.
