Birth Control for TTC

Funny right?

I finally heard from the doctor. She called me from her cell phone today on her way home. She said she had been following my ultrasounds and blood works over the past weeks and with the lingering cysts decided that I need to give my body a break. She is calling in birth control pills for me to begin taking immediately. Right now my body has persistent, painful cysts. The estrogen my body is producing is feeding these and is making them stick around. The birth control will help suppress estrogen in my body thus, hopefully, shrinking the cyst in the process.

We will still meet with her on Monday to go over everything and I look forward to that. She also said that we will meet again next month to check to see if my cysts are getting any better.

So, starting tomorrow I am officially not ttc until these cysts are gone. Sigh.

A little update from today's appointment.

Today was the final appointment in my diagnostic stage with this new office. The last thing we needed to do was sit down with a genetic counselor and go over some available tests we could do to check for diseases/abnormalities. After speaking with the geneticist we declined any further testing. I have had some of my genetics tested when I was pregnant and random tests here and there since starting with the REs. At this point I just don't think its necessary to check for anything else.

While we were at the appointment the geneticist did tell me that the test for Fragile X syndrome came back negative.

I also had my day 3 labs repeated today because Friday's results were so wonky. At 5:30 the patient coordinator called me to schedule the next meeting with the doctor to go over and and all results from everything this month and discuss a plan of treatment. She also said that they did get the results from today's blood work but that the doctor was going to call me to discuss. EEEkkkk. She said she was in a meeting but would call me after she was done. That was 2 hours ago. I don't think she is calling today which sucks bc I want to know the new results.

Anyway, next Monday Mike and I are going to sit down with the doctor. I'm anxious and nervous to hear what she has to say. I'm anxious to possibly get a titled diagnosis but scared about what that means in terms of treatments.
